What can plywood be overlaid with?

Due to the rapid development of technology in the modern world, Plyterra Group offers many varieties of plywood. Plywood can be covered with HPL or CPL plastic, phenolic or melamine films, as well as fiberglass.

HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is a high–pressure plastic – a modern composite material obtained from sheets of paper, thermoactive resins and a protective layer. This universal facing material is widely used in furniture production and construction.

CPL (Continuous Presse Laminate) is a plastic sheet, the layers of which are pressed together using continuous press technology. At the same time, the pressure is lower than when pressing HPL plastic, which is why its performance characteristics are also somewhat lower. CPL consists of several layers of special decorated paper, as well as resin-impregnated kraft paper and an additional layer of protective film.

CPL, like HPL, is highly environmentally friendly, so it can also be used in children's and medical institutions.

Phenolic film is used to create a protective layer on the surface of plywood and prolongs the life cycle of the product. The coating is a special paper impregnated with phenol-formaldehyde resin with the addition of dyes, pigments and various additives.

During the lamination process, under the influence of temperature and pressure, the resin contained in the coating spreads over the surface of the plywood, penetrating into the pores and capillaries of the upper layer of wood and cures, creating a solid polymer layer.

Fiberglass belongs to the category of composite materials of universal application. Fiberglass is characterized by low weight, high strength, corrosion and temperature resistance.

Plyterra Composite is plywood overlaid with HPL, CPL or fiberglass. It is a durable material with good performance properties. It is easy to handle and can be cut-to-size. The plastic coating significantly increases the wear resistance of the panel. Plyterra Composite retains its appearance and its properties throughout its service life. There are more than 100 designs of HPL and CPL plastics. Fiberglass can have a smooth and embossed surface.
